My name is Joe Skinner and I am a play-by-play broadcaster based out of Charlotte, North Carolina!
I am a graduate of Penn State University's Bellisario of College of Communications with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a certificate from the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism in 2021, as well as a Wingate University graduate with a master's degree in sports management. My specialty is play-by-play broadcasting but I also have experience in writing, interviewing, editing, social media and reporting.
Previously, I was an athletic communications graduate assistant and play-by-play voice of 11 teams for the DII Wingate University Bulldogs in Wingate, North Carolina while also serving as the gameday contact for Wingate events on the FloSports streaming platform.

MY BIO
From August 2021 until May 2023, I was an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant in Broadcasting and Video at Wingate University, serving as the play-by-play voice and a content creator for its 22 Division II teams.
After graduation, I took a post-graduate internship as the Director of Broadcasting and Media with the Sanford Mainers, a collegiate summer baseball team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League based out of Sanford, ME. I have also held internships in summer collegiate baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers (Cape Cod) and the Purcellville Cannons (Valley).
At Penn State, I was a four-year member of CommRadio, Penn State's student-run internet radio station, as a broadcaster, writer, and podcaster. In 2018, I was hired as a sports director by the station and served as an executive producer for all of CommRadio's men's basketball, women's volleyball, and women's lacrosse broadcasts. In 2020, I was promoted to student general manager of the station to oversee all three content departments: News, Sports, and Arts/Entertainment.
